ANTI-TAB
Privacy Policy
Effective August 26, 2026 · Version 0.1.x
Your focus sessions stay on your computer.
The short version
Anti-Tab is local-first. Your tasks, timers, blocklists and statistics are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. We operate no servers that receive your data, we have no accounts, and we never see your browsing history.
What we do NOT collect
- No browsing history or page content
- No account or registration data (there are no accounts)
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or tracking of any kind
- No advertising identifiers, and no data is sold or shared — there is no one to sell it to
What stays on your device
- Your declared task and session state
- Your blocked / allowed site lists and preferences
- Local usage statistics (sessions completed, minutes focused, escape attempts)
- If you purchased Pro: your license key and its last verification date
You can erase everything at any time by removing the extension.
Permissions explained
- Read and change your data on all sites: required so the blocklist you define can apply to any website you add. Anti-Tab does not read or transmit page contents.
- Manage your apps, extensions and themes / block requests: used to enforce only your own rules while your own focus session is active.
- New tab: replaced with your task and timer during focus sessions so distraction starts with a reminder instead of a blank page.
One exception: Pro license verification
If you buy Anti-Tab Pro and activate it, the license key you enter is sent to Gumroad's official license API to confirm it is valid. This happens at activation and during periodic re-checks. No other information accompanies it, and this is the extension's only outbound network call.
Gumroad handles the payment itself and is subject to Gumroad's privacy policy.
